Paperwork regarding scrapping a car

There is countless paperwork to deal with when you need to scrap a car or motorcycle. First of all, a check is done by using the vehicle / motorcycle number plate to see whether it is free from administrative hold. Once this is completed, documentation is sent to the Public Automobile Register (Pubblico Registro Automobilistico - P.R.A in Italy). If an administrative hold is registered, then the vehicle cannot be collected. The customer will have to go to the Authority that made recorded the detention order requesting it to be released for scrapping (it does not cancel the debt, but allows the vehicle to be scrapped).

The Certificate of Demolition is issued upon delivery of the vehicle to our salvage yard, along with the documents needed to complete the scrapping paperwork for the P.R.A (Public Automobile Register).

What documents do I need?

VEHICLE WITH BOTH FRONT PLATE AND REAR PLATE (in the absence of a plate or both, the ORIGINAL LOSS REPORT is required)

ORIGINAL OWNERSHIP CERTIFICATE (in the absence of ORIGINAL LOSS REPORT)

ORIGINAL CIRCULATION CARD (in the absence of ORIGINAL LOSS REPORT)

OWNER REQUIRES PIECE OF IDENTITY (RECOGNISED BY THE ITALIAN STATE)

ORIGINAL CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE FOR SCRAPPING (when applicable)

If the owner is a company, a copy of the CHAMBER OF COMMERCE REGISTRATION is required along with the PIECE OF IDENTITY OF THE LEGAL REPRESENTATIVE

If the owner is deceased, an original self-declaration letter on plain paper is required, signed by one of the heirs with a copy of a piece of identity attached, which authorises us to cancel the vehicle in the name of the deceased. If other heirs are mentioned in the self-declaration letter, a copy of their piece of identity needs to be attached as well.

Scrapping a car - we take care of all the paperwork

Following this, the certificate of completion will be issued digitally that the car will be taken of the road, proof that the vehicle has been removed permanently.
